Tragic Note To Self, Part 2

How may we help yo..” Alice froze mid-sentence.

Alice as always dreaded the day this would happen but she never expected it to be this soon. It’s so sad that she had to do this to her best friend and favourite person in the world. She practically mentored Jumoke and it crushes her that she had to take on without her.
She just didn’t know it would hurt this bad. Seeing her face to face, at this very moment is one of her worst moment. What can she say to her to cover for what she had done, how could she understand?

“…I am talking to you…” Alice heard Jumoke shout, breaking her from her shock and frozen state.
“How are you feeling today?”  Was all she could manage to say.

She could see the furiosity in Jumoke’s angry wrinkles on her forehead and she felt like she was burning from the fire coming from her eyes.

“How am I doing?” Jumoke laughs cynically, “I would tell you how I’m doing when you start talking about how you stole my ideas, my business and launched it on the spot I dreamt it to be.”

Alice didn’t believe she could get any more shocked than she was, but guess there were many levels of shock she hadn’t realized and she was beginning to find out.

“Wait! Stole your what!” Alice didn’t understand what Jumoke was saying. She thought Jumoke was better, she hoped she was better. She was already tired of doing this. All she wanted to be was a silent partner, not someone doing the daily ups and downs. She had her real estate empire to run and couldn’t be saddled with fashion. She loved it yeah, but not so much to run it.

Alice focus, focus she gave herself a mental caution.

“Jumoke, what do you remember?” Alice asked while motioning Jumoke to sit.

“What do you mean what do I remember, I woke up this morning for a stroll and I saw this was up and I wanted an explanation? I mean, I was here last week and none of these was here so you should be the one doing the explanation.”

Alice’s heart broke again, her heart was shattered. She felt her hope slipped away once again and all she could see was Jumoke on the floor, covered in blood, in front of the now functioning JSA House. She obviously doesn’t remember.

“What am I missing?” Jumoke asked as Alice was all silent

Everything Alice was screaming in her mind, Everything. Alice couldn’t hold back her tears, she burst out sobbing hard. Jumoke was confused at the reaction, knowing something was not right. One of the House Ladies brought Alice a face paper and asked if she was okay. Alice in turn told the girl to call Dupe.

Alice saw the confusion mixed with fear edged on Jumoke’s face
“Everything would be clear once dupe arrives,” she said as she held Jumoke’s hand across the table.
